The calendar says Thursday but Alabama practiced this afternoon as if it was a Monday. The beginning of the week of play brought the scarlet tide to the far field.
Some notes on the shortened media viewing period:
– Defensive lineman Antonio Alfano was back on the field after missing the previous three training sessions this week.
– Jerome Ford, the freshman who lost with what Nick Saban called a sprained ankle in Saturday's race, was seen with the attacking midfielder.
– It also seemed that linebacker Christian Harris was fine after a few days of limited action. It was the first time we were looking closely at the newcomer who was not registered in the spring. The Baton Rouge product has an impressive size for its age at 6 feet 2 inches, 244 pounds. He looks quite like a university player, a bit like Dylan Moses when he arrived from Baton Rouge two years ago.
– The second group with central linebackers included rookie Shane Lee and the second year, Jaylen Moody.
– Instead of wearing full gear, Alabama players wore helmets and epaulets.
– Saban will meet the press after the training around 18 hours.
