Mets Catcher Tomas Nido was touched by a vicious backswing by Atlanta Braves' third base player Josh Donaldson at the top of the sixth round on Friday night.
Nido stayed in the game for the final off the heat after both Mets coaches threw him out. Wilson Ramos entered for Nido at the top of the seventh inning.
Syracuse Mets Catcher René Rivera was lifted for a pinch just minutes after the incident. Rivera takes advantage of the loaded ball of the International League with already 25 races at its peak career.
Rivera played in some parts of the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Mets.
