Six spectators were injured after searching for shelter under a lightning strike Saturday at the PGA Tour championship in Atlanta.

"Injuries do not seem to be life-threatening," said PGA.

According to Atlanta police and the PGA, lightning struck after the third round of the tournament at the East Lake Golf Club.

"A tree near the beach / 15 green / 16 tee was hit and debris from that hit injured" fans, said the PGA in a statement.

The PGA said that up to six people had been injured. Police said four men and two women were injured.

The game was suspended and was scheduled to resume at 8 am, officials said.

"The safety of our fans, players and partners is of utmost importance," said PGA.
