FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Much of the NFL has been buzzing since Saturday night when quarterback Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts took a shocking retirement.
Not exactly, even though it was what could have happened when Belichick was questioned on Monday about his reaction to the "big news of the weekend".
"He's a good player, I did not see that, but I do not really care," Belichick said of Luck. "We must all make our decisions, he has made his own, I respect them."
It was then clarified that Belichick meant that he did not see Luck's retirement happen.
Bill Barnwell of ESPN welcomes Chris Sprow, editor of ESPN NFL, to talk about Andrew Luck's retirement, including what the Colts' approach could be for the ######################################################################################## 39; future. Listen now!
Still, if there is an NFL coach who might miss such information, it's Belichick, 67, who often tells camp players that he there is no light at the end of the tunnel, and that's what happens with the patriots.
The reigning Super Bowl champions will not face the Colts in the 2019 regular season. Luck's replacement quarterback Jacoby Brissett was a Patriots' third-round pick in 2016 that was traded to the Colts in 2017.
