Zelda: Link's Awakening will not support cloud savings, according to the Nintendo UK list

Zelda Link's Awakening

Update: It seems that there is some confusion here. When it is displayed on the eShop, the list of NA games confirms that cloud backups are supported, while on the UK eShop, it is listed as "pending." We will update this message as soon as Nintendo tells us.

Original story: Nintendo fans used to call backups in the cloud before the company introduced them as part of its Nintendo Switch Online service, but we've already seen a few instances where this vital feature was omitted key versions – usually because there is potential for players who abuse it to cheat in certain titles.

However, the last game to have been blocked by the cloud backup service is confusing. Nintendo UK game page for The legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening States:

Note: This software does not support the Save Data Cloud backup feature of paid members of Nintendo Switch Online.

One may wonder why Nintendo has decided to make this title incompatible with the cloud backup feature, but that sounds crazy to us, especially if you consider that many Switch owners could potentially switch to Switch Lite this year, and want to take their progress with them.

Would it be a mistake? This is certainly possible and we sought the advice of NUK (but, since it is a public holiday in the UK, we may not have received it until tomorrow).

Tell us what you think about this move by posting a comment below.
