The ride will be 13 storied, at a maximum speed of 58 mph, and will allow runners to cross more than 3,000 feet of runway.
The main features of Jersey Devil Coaster include:
- Four elegant 12-passenger trains sit low and lined up (one rider per row), legs straddling across the monorail track
- 3000 feet I-lane, single-track and single-headed
- The tension rises up a hill high and 130 feet high
- Fly at speeds of up to 58 mph
- Three intense elements, including a first steep drop to 87 degrees, a raven dive and a reduction of the rating
- Two spectacular inversions including a 180 degree stall and a weightless roller.
The park says the ride was inspired by the Jersey Devil legend.
"Legend has it that the Jersey Devil has haunted arid pines for centuries, hovering sneakily through the woods in the dark of the night before attacking its prey," Six Flags says. "Modern folklore even places this beast near the Great Lake amusement park, with its threatening and curly horns that manifest under the full moon."
The ride will be located at the lake, near Safari Kids and Congo Rapids.
The Jersey Devil Coaster will debut in the summer of 2020.
