Trump says it would be "disloyal to my followers" to do an interview with CNN

"They beg me to do an interview, and I just think it would be disloyal for my fans," Trump said after calling Brian Kilmeade's Fox News Radio.

"I think it would be very disloyal for people who are fans of Trump and for those who voted for me and for those who will vote again," he added.

Trump has not had an interview with CNN since taking office, although he has spoken with the network several times during his 2016 presidential campaign.

The president, who has long disputed with the network and other major media about the coverage of his administration, strongly criticized Thursday CNN and MSNBC.

He complained that networks and other outlets are "vilest people" and targeted Lawrence O'Neill Donnell, of MSNBC, on a report he had withdrawn the previous night.

Trump called in the Kilmeade show a day after criticizing Fox News and complained that the network "no longer works for us".

Trump told Kilmeade that he "was not happy with Fox" before listing a number of opinionators still in his good graces.

"People think Fox is for me." Listen, Sean [Hannity]and Laura [Ingraham] and Tucker [Carlson] really good – well, Tucker is a little tricky, but that's ok, "laughs Trump.

The President of the Republic has complained once again that Fox News polls show him fighting against Democratic candidates in hypothetical meetings for 2020.

Trump routinely rejects any coverage described as "false news" and has decried some media outlets as "the enemy of the people", despite warnings from press freedom advocates about the dangers of these terms.
