Justin Bieber has been an active member of his church for years, but he just took the courage to lead the worship for the first time.
On Wednesday night, the superstar surprised her congregation by joining the band on stage at Churchome in Beverly Hills, leading the band in song. Unsurprisingly, the singer seemed awesome. Videos of Bieber were posted on social media by followers who praised him for his "vulnerability" and for giving his testimony.
Judah Smith, pastor and friend of Bieber, had nothing to say after the song, claiming that this 25-year-old "clearly has the gift of leading the cult."
"We met for the first time when Justin was about eight in Toronto and he was always a faithful, and that's largely what he is," Smith told the congregation in a video obtained by TMZ. "I want to be part of a church where everyone uses their gift to contribute to the community.I am far from the idea of standing in the way of someone who clearly has a gift to lead the worship. . "
Bieber explained why he was nervous to lead the worship while he was an integral part of the ecclesial community for years.
"I want to support that too, I did not do it because I felt – I did not want to give the impression that … I do not know … Judah, you know what I'm doing. I just did not want people to think, for example, that it was a show, "he said.
Perhaps the impending wedding of Bieber has helped to show courage. Although he is legally married to Hailey Bieber (formerly Hailey Baldwin), the two would apparently marry in South Carolina in September.
