Projection of the composition of the Patriots to 53: How New England can open additional places? | Patriots of New England

[ad_1]

It was not easy, but we adapted Gunner Olszewski, armed with the Patriots, to the training of 53 players from New England.

Find out how in our final projection of the lineup before Saturday's deadline:

QUARTERBACK (3)
Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham

Everyone does it. Hurray! The Patriots could still trade or cut Hoyer, but we think he's safe after Thursday night's game against the New York Giants.

RUNNING BACK (5)
Brandon Bolden, Rex Burkhead, Damien Harris, Sony Michel, James White

Nick Brossette is the only one to be. He carried the burden all the time of the pre-season but did not stand out.

LARGE RECEIVER (8)
Phillip Dorsett, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, N'Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers, Pistoler Olszewski, Matthew Slater, Thomas Demaryius
PUP: Cameron Meredith

We do not think that Meyers and Olszewski are totally safe. Meyers is more likely to be part of the team because he has stood out since the first day of training camp. We love Olszewski for returning kicks and kicks. Dorsett, Edelman, Gordon, Harry and Slater are locks. Thomas looked great during his first preparatory action of the summer.

Tight end (3)
James Develin, FB, Ryan Izzo, Matt LaCosse
Suspended: Lance Kendricks, Ben Watson

We considered keeping only a tight end (Izzo) and then seeing who touched the waiver wire. We will play safety and go with two more Develin. LaCosse has not played since the first week of the pre-season, but we will keep it anyway.

OFFENSIVE LINE (7)
LT Isaiah Wynn, LG Joe Thuney, C Ted Karras, RG Shaq Mason, RT Marcus Cannon, Korey Cunningham, Jermaine Eluemunor
NFI: Yodny Cajuste
IR: David Andrews, Hjalte Froholdt (?)

Andrews is struggling with a blood clot in his lungs, while Froholdt was injured in Thursday night's game. We think the Patriots could redshirt Froholdt and get a spot in the lineup by placing him in the casualty pool with the former "Foxboro Flu". We will cheat and place both players in RI. It is useful for the Patriots to acquire Cunningham and Eluemunor as depth via the trade.

DEFENSIVE LINE (5)
Michael Bennett, Adam Butler, Byron Cowart, Lawrence Guy and Danny Shelton

We believe that Deatrich Wise Jr. could be a commercial candidate. He was one of the veterans with whom he played against the Giants and was not a good system for the updated defense of the Patriots. We really like David Parry's nose-dive to support Shelton, but we also think that the Patriots could infiltrate it into their training team to serve as depth.

LINEBACKERS (8)
Ja'Whaun Bentley, Shilique Calhoun, Jamie Collins, Dont'a Hightower, John Simon Elandon Roberts, Kyle Van Noy, Chase Winovich

Calhoun was a difficult inclusion, but he received the first team's representatives early in the training camp before getting hurt. We chose to keep Roberts on Calvin Munson. If Roberts is exchanged, we will probably replace him with Munson or Parry. Derek Rivers has been injured since the second week. Maybe the Patriots could exchange it?

Shrinks (6)
Keion Crossen, Jason Jackson, Jason Jones, Stephon Gilmore, Jason McCourty, Joejuan Williams

Crossen form the team against Duke Dawson despite difficult times in the final pre-season game.

SECURITY (5)
Patrick Chung, Nate Ebner, Duron Harmon, Devin McCourty, Terrence Brooks

The five players were absent on Thursday night. This is usually a sign that they are forming the team.

SPECIAL TEAMS (3)
K Stephen Gostkowski, PJake Bailey, LS Joe Cardona

Bailey has already beaten Ryan Allen.

Last in: Olszewski

Last sortie: Parry

Ideal Training Team: Andrew Beck, Andrew Beck, WR Braxton Berrios, E. Eric Saubert, C. Tyler Gauthier, OT Dan Skipper, DT David Parry, OLB Derek Rivers, L.-B. Calvin Munson, Duke Dawson CB, S. Obi Melifonwu
