The album "Lover" by American songwriter Taylor Swift broke a new record for an international artist in China Friday, surpassing the million total of flows, downloads and sales combined in the week following its release.

This combined total makes it the most consumed international album in China in such a short time.

"Lover" was released on August 23 and is expected to reach between 825,000 and 850,000 equivalent album sales during its first week in the US, according to Billboard magazine.

The disc includes songs "ME!" With Brendon Urie of Panic! Disco, and 'You Need to Calm Down', featuring a music video featuring a plethora of celebrities and LGBTQ stars including Katy Perry, Laverne Cox, Ellen DeGeneres and Adam Rippon.

The video clip for the title song "Lover" was released last week and is set in a series of dollhouse-like vignettes, moving from room to room while Swift plays instruments including drums, violin and guitar .

Swift's previous albums, "1989" and "Reputation", exceeded one million Chinese consumers, but over a longer period.
