350,000 Watch a Gnome Mage Reach Level 60 in World of Warcraft Classic • Eurogamer.net

A relatively unknown player in World of Warcraft Classic has reached the maximum level of the game, beating competition from established guilds.

Jokerd, a 22-year-old Maltese, has created a gnome mage and has reached level 60 in three days and seven hours – all while streaming on Twitch.

Jokerd beat Method, the most famous guild of Warcraft, in world premiere. Method was playing from a base in a Los Angeles studio, even sending advertising to squeeze his attempts.

But that's Jokerd who stole the show. The clip below shows the final push at level 60 in front of an incredible 350,000 viewers (go to the 18:18 mark to jump right in. Be careful, expect to swear!)

Jokerd then teleports to the city of Stormwind, where other players celebrate his feat. Jokerd brilliantly ends his flow by hosting Method.

Jokerd made the world premiere playing solo on the Mograine server in Europe. According to Dotesports, Jokerd focused on soloing groups of creatures with area-of-effect spells, such as Blizzard.

He also used a technique called "overlay" (group and groups leaving to avoid waiting time before the crowds reappear) at level 58. Overlay, a modern feature that Blizzard has added to World of Warcraft Classic so to divide the players between helping to manage the population, is despised by some who question its use in the context of the race to 60 years.

In a tweet, Jokerd explained, "At this point, it was in the wrong [sic] that I was 60 years old and that I wanted to win an hour and a half. "

Jokerd also declined account sharing (the other players playing on his account while he was sleeping).

And after? Race to kill Onyxia or empty the molten core. All that Jokerd needs is for other players to catch up.
