ORLANDO, Florida (FOX 35 ORLANDO) – The Orlando International Airport plans to cease its commercial flight operations Monday starting at 2 am, tweeted the airport on Friday.
The OIA called Dorian a "very serious storm" and the decision to end the operations was "taken collectively with the airport partners". The airport did not say when its operations would resume, because it would have to assess the potential impact of Dorian on the facilities.
That said, we still have to wait to see what effect this storm will have on the airport itself. As we have done, we will post additional operational updates as soon as we get them. Thank you everyone.

Daytona Beach International Airport Friday announced the closure of its terminal after the last flight Sunday night. Passengers planning to enter or leave the airport on Sunday are encouraged to contact their airline for updated information. The airport is not a shelter, officials said.
Orlando International Airport Melbourne will close its terminal at 23:59 on Sunday, September 1st. The airport will suspend all air transport, car rental and parking operations until the cyclone is over. Passengers must contact their airlines for information on flights.
