Decide to cut the cable TV cable does not mean you have to give up live TV. One way to watch live broadcasts without cable is to: connect an antenna. It's cheap (read: free) and effective, as long as you're ready to live with the handful of local channels available in your area. And assuming you receive a good welcome.
If this is not enough for you and you are ready to pay a monthly payment, you should take a look at a live TV streaming service. They offer many familiar channels such as ESPN, CNN, Fox News and TNT, as well as features such as digital video recorders and the ability to watch not only television, but also phones, tablets and computers.
Eight major services are available today: Hulu with Live TVFrom Google YouTube TV, Dish Network Sling TVFrom Sony PlayStation View, AT & T's AT & T TV now (formerly DirecTV Now, not to be confused with AT & T TV) and Watch television, Philo and Fubo TV. The Big Picture: Top 100 Channels Compared (Updated September 1, 2019)
The main difference between each service is in their channel lists. All offer different types of channels at different prices.
Most do not have as many channels as traditional cable or satellite TV packages. On the other hand, they may have enough for you, especially if you save a lot of money every month by not paying the cable company for channels you do not watch.
Below you will find a chart showing the top 100 channels among the eight services. In fact, there are nine. Sling TV has two different basic levels, Orange and Blue. And if you ask yourself, I chose the "main" channels that made the difference. Sorry, AXS TV, Discovery Life, GSN and Universal HD.

- Yes = The channel is available on the cheapest rate level. This price is indicated next to the service name.
- No = The channel is not available at all on this service.
- $ = The channel is available for a surcharge, a la carte or as part of a package or an offer more expensive.
- Regional Sports Networks – channels devoted to the broadcast of regular season games of certain professional baseball, basketball and / or hockey teams – are not listed. This is a numerical disadvantage for services such as YouTube TV and Fubo, which feature a lot of RSN, and a benefit for Philo and AT & T, who do not offer any sports channel, point-to-point.
- ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, MyNetworkTV and The CW networks are not available in all cities and the availability of these local channels varies greatly by service (Note that CBS is the parent company of CNET). In some cities, some services offer only video-on-demand broadcasts from the networks, not the live local channel.
- PBS is not yet available on any service, but it's definitely a leading channel, giving a row. However, later this year, YouTube TV will be the first service to add local PBS stations.
