Benefiting from a start in first place, Verstappen's early retirement, his teammate holding the best over Hamilton and a maximum speed advantage, the Ferrari Leclerc rider won his first Formula 1 victory at the Belgian Grand Prix . After months of problems with strategy and dynamism within the team, Leclerc finally took pole.

His teammate Sebastian Vettel took second place. An early tire change made Seb vulnerable at the end of the race, allowing Hamilton to pass. Nevertheless, Vettel has managed to slow down Hamilton's pace to give Leclerc leeway.

After Hamilton passed, Vettel came in to exchange his shooting tires. He finished fourth, behind Valtteri Bottas. Hamilton was able to reduce Leclerc's lead, reducing the gap from about seven seconds to less than one second. But Leclerc pushed him back successfully, thus protecting his lead.

For the second year in a row, Ferrari won a victory at Spa-Francorchamps, a track that highlights Ferrari's superior speed advantage over Mercedes.

And while the Red Bull Max Verstappen's star driver went off early, the team's new driver, Alex Albon, made a heroic performance. In his first race for Red Bull, Albon is well beaten from 17th to finish fifth. It's a promising start for the team.

Alfa Romeo's driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, dropped in the last lap, while mechanical problems pushed Lando Norris to retire prematurely from fifth place. McLaren rider Carlos Sainz also bowed out, retiring early in the race after a mechanical failure. With the fall of Verstappen, four drivers did not finish the Belgian Grand Prix this year.

Leclerc dedicated his victory to the Formula 2 driver, Anthoine Hubert, killed yesterday following an accident during the F2 race. The two drivers crossed several times during their career.
