Huawei took advantage of his official Twitter account to announce that he will unveil the Mate 30 series on September 19th. For PhoneArena readers, this is not a surprise. Back on August 11, we told you that the company's software development chairman, Wang Chenglu, had leaked the date to Hi-tech.mail. The Mate 30 Pro will be the manufacturer's most advanced non-collapsible phone released this year and under normal circumstances, the demand for this line could have allowed Huawei to rise to the top of the smartphone market. But this year has not been normal for the company.
On May 16, the US Department of Commerce listed Huawei on the list of entities for security reasons. This prevents the company from gaining access to the US supply chain where it spent $ 11 billion last year. Some exceptions are made to allow Huawei to serve existing customers, but the manufacturer is not allowed to purchase memory chips from Micron or other Intel and Qualcomm components. But what could hurt the business the most is its inability to license the Android version of Google Play for new devices. Last week, Google told the media that the Mate 30 line could not use the licensed version of Android, nor could the phones use Google's basic Android apps or include the Google Play Store.
The Huawei Mate 30 range will sell well in China thanks to a wave of patriotism
While Huawei unveiled its own HarmonyOS last month, the company said it would not use the new software on high-end devices. Huawei may have to turn to an open source version of Android similar to the FireOS variant used by Amazon for its tablets. Amazon also used this forked version of Android for Fire Phone, one of its biggest flops (if not the biggest). Even if Huawei decides to install an open source version of Android on Mate 30 phones, the models will still sell quite well in China. The ban triggered a wave of patriotism among Chinese consumers, which led Huawei to capture 38.2 percent of the domestic market in the second quarter. That's more than double the 18.3% market share held in China by Oppo's vice-champion from April to June. For the first half of 2019, which included 6 weeks on the list of entities, Huawei has delivered 118 million handsets worldwide. Last year, 206 million phones were shipped.
The circular camera module located on the back of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro has been concealed by a special case during a recent release
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is thought to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED curved screen that will have a refresh rate of 90Hz. This is 50% faster than the rate found on traditional smartphone screens and will lead to smoother animation for players and smooth scrolling. It may also shorten the life of the battery, which is why the Mate 30 Pro must be delivered with a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh. Another feature that calls on the phone's battery is the reverse wireless charge. This allows the rear panel of the handset to be used as a wireless charger to power certain accessories and compatible phones. The Mate 30 would be equipped with a 4200mAh battery.
Case render gives us a look at the Huawei Mate 30 Pro
The photos of the Mate 30 Pro show that there will be a waterfall. This means that the sides of the screen are curved and fall at an angle of almost 90 degrees. Those who look directly at the phone screen will not be able to notice the thin side covers of the device and the Mate 30 Pro will sport a large notch at the top of the screen. The Huawei Kirin 990 chipset will be powered by both phones. Designed by its HiSilicon unit, the SoC is manufactured by TSMC using its 7nm process and will include an integrated 5G modem chip and a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for artificial intelligence tasks.
The Mate line 30 has been moved to a circular camera module from the square on the back of the Mate 20 Pro. It's a little ironic since Apple and Google are turning this year to square camera modules for their new handsets. Speaking of the rear cameras, four of them will be inside the circular module belonging to the Mate 30 Pro. We could see two 40 MPa snappers (one for main use, the other for very wide-angle shots with a 120-degree field of view), a 8 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a flight time ) Depth sensor to enhance the effects of bokeh on portraits.
Do you understand correctly? The countdown for # HuaweiMate30 start now!
The loop is completed in Munich on 19.09.2019.
