Hurricane Dorian has swept the United States and has become a Category 4 "major" category 4 hurricane, in anticipation of a scheduled landing Monday to Tuesday on the east coast of Florida, announced the forecasters.

Hurricane warnings were set up in northwestern Bahamas when Dorian approached the island. A direct hit in the Bahamas is likely Sunday to Monday.
Forecasters say that Dorian will likely slow down considerably as Florida approaches, allowing for heavy rains, dangerous winds and a potentially life-threatening storm surge.
