classical Doctor Who writer Terrance Dicks died at the age of 84 years.
Born in East London in 1935, the British author was best known for his work as a script editor in the hugely popular science fiction series of the BBC. Between 1969 and 1974, Dicks was awarded over 150 Doctor Who the scripts. Well known to fans, "Uncle Terrance" was a prolific writer in "Whoniverse", working on multiple forms of fictional and non-fiction links in addition to his work on the long series.
In addition to his five years working on Doctor Who, Dicks is also known for his two Doctor Who plays and his more than 60 pounds. Become author after his television appearance, Dicks has written several books behind the scenes as well as dozens of Target books Doctor Who television novellisations. After transforming the classic television series into books for the general public early in his career, Dicks continued to work on Blank books and BBC Books" Doctor Who: New adventures in the 1990s, shortly before the television series was relaunched in 2005.
While Doctor Who introduced Dicks into the literary world, he reinvented himself later as a children's book author. Dicks has written a number of series aimed at young readers, Magnificent Max (about a cat), The adventures of Goliath (about a dog), and The irregulars of Baker Street.
Many Whoniverse members – of the show and the fandom – publicly mourn the author's death. Radio Times issued a statement of current Doctor Who show-runner Chris Chibnall quote:
