COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) – Waffle House arrives at College Station – sort of.

The mobile food truck of this iconic restaurant will be at the Clayton Williams, Jr. Alumni Center, on the A & M campus of Texas, on Wednesday, September 4, from noon to 2 pm.

The visit came after Waffle House promoted a social media survey a few weeks ago, asking residents of San Antonio, College Station and Oxford, Missouri, to vote for their respective cities. The winner, promised Waffle House, would be awarded the visit of a truck-restaurant.

College Station easily won the poll with 44% of the votes. However, the Waffle House food truck will visit the three cities.

"We felt really bad because College Station smoked everyone in the vote," said Pat Warner at Waffle House Headquarters. "So it's really a consolation prize for San Antonio and Oxford … we know who really won."

Warner says that while the truck does not serve Waffle House's full, famous, and fat menu, visitors will be able to enjoy waffles, hash browns, a limited edition Coca-Cola bottle and many Waffle gifts. House.

With regard to the possibility of Waffle House as a permanent fixture at College Station, Warner had less detail.

"The answer is that we come to College Station. One day, said Warner. "I just do not know what day it will be."
