As Hurricane Dorian spreads along the Florida coast, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry said on Wednesday that the storm was "tiring" because she "was moving so slowly."
"It's almost a week now," Curry told America's Newsroom, urging residents to follow evacuation instructions before the storm gets closer.

"This storm is still rising on the coast. I do not want people, especially in coastal communities, to rest easily and think they can get out and move, "he said.

Curry said it was the third storm that he had known in four years as mayor.
"When you live with this and you experience this leadership role, I will always strive to ensure the safety of people," he said.

"If, in fact, there are no bad impacts, it suits me. I agree to talk on the other side and tell people why you asked us to evacuate, "Curry said.
He added, "We make the decisions with the best information we have to keep people safe."
