Chris March, the perennially jovial "Project Runway" contestant who has demonstrated a flair for bold and dramatic fashion, has died at the age of 56.
TMZ was the first to report that March had died of a heart attack Thursday.
The designer's death, which appeared in Season 4 of the reality show, was confirmed by Andy Cohen on Friday on an Instagram post.
"That's how I'm going to remember Chris March," Cohen wrote, "disguised as Lisa Vanderpump while wearing a giggy costume he made for one of our first Halloween specials.
Mars has reportedly been in and out of hospitals in the last two years after nearly dying after a serious fall in an apartment in 2017, during which he hit his head.
For four days, he lost consciousness, according to an earlier statement released by Entertainment Weekly.
After being rushed to hospital in 2017, he underwent a tracheostomy and was placed under a ventilator after the failure of his organs and the collapse of his right lung.
He was then placed in a medically induced coma.

"My kidneys broke down, my lung collapsed and my gallbladder was infected," said March 2018. "I almost died several times. They called my family and we told them they wanted to say goodbye right away. "
But Mars woke up despite the paralysis of both legs, knees down.
After reaching the four finalists of "Project Runway", in which he was beaten by the famous designer Christian Siriano, March played in his own series "Mad Fashion" by designing tailored outfits for the likes of Meryl Streep, Lady Gaga and Madonna. .
