Whoopi Goldberg should play alongside Jovan Adepo (When they see us)Owen Teague (Mrs. Fletcher), Brad William Henke (Orange is the new black) and Daniel Sunjata (Save me) in The stall, adaptation of Stephen King's novel to CBS All Access. They join previously announced cast members James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young and Henry Zaga. Goldberg and King announced this morning on ABC View.
Written by Josh Boone and Ben Cavell, The stall is King's apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by the plague and immersed in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of humanity rests on the frail shoulders of Mother Abagail (Goldberg), 108, and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied by a man with a fatal smile to indescribable powers: Randall Flagg, the black man.

Goldberg's Abagail's mother is a prophet who receives visions of God and guides the survivors of the superfluous.
Adepo will play Larry Underwood, a young amateur musician of celebrity and illegal substances. When the plague hits, he is forced to face his demons as he heads to the new world.
Teague will play Harold Lauder. After the extravagance has ravaged his city, Harold goes out looking for other people with his other survivor, Frannie Goldsmith. Although his intentions are good, jealousy and his craze for Frannie threaten to lead him on a dark path.
Henke will play Tom Cullen, Nick Andros' travel companion, who has an intellectual disability due to a terrible fall as a child. A sweet soul, he will be decisive in their fight for survival.
Sunjata will play Cobb, an army member tasked with supervising Stu Redman, while the government is seeking a cure for the hatching of the superfluous film.
The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios. Josh Boone and Ben Cavell will write and produce executive products under Boone's direction. Stephen King will write the last chapter of the series, providing a new coda that is not in the book. Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller and Richard P. Rubinstein will also be executive producers, while Will Weiske will be co-executive producer. Knate Lee, Jill Killington and Owen King will serve as producers.
