Do not Cry for Me …
While much of the video game world has evolved, Anthem is still operational. Last month marked the Cataclysm event and, as of today, sci-fi shooter BioWare has joined EA Access and Origin Access. I can see people mix by morbid curiosity.
With Anthem now in The Vault, it's fully available to play at no extra cost. Basic subscribers get the standard no-frills edition of the game, but Origin Access Premier members have access to the Legion of Dawn edition. (in other words: extra armor for each class and the digital soundtrack).
Covering this game as far back in 2019 gives the impression of talking about a ghost. It's strange, especially in the context of a BioWare title with significant support (at least in the beginning). Things could have improved after the launch.
"Intellectual property lives from generation to generation and operates on these seven to ten year cycles," said EA President Andrew Wilson earlier this year. "So, if I think of Anthem on a cycle of seven to ten years, it may not have had the beginning that many of us wanted, including our players. I think this team is really going to get there with something special and big because it has proven it can. "
It's nice to see Anthem on EA Access for anyone wishing to experience the ups and downs of a live game with BioWare, but I'm not optimistic about the future of IP and I'm afraid Dragon Age Fans.
