Mental health assessments and skills were commissioned for the man accused of the triple homicide of his family.

Judge Brian Turpin has approved an order for assessment of skills and mental health requested by Bernard's attorney, appointed by the court, according to documents obtained by CNN's affiliate, WSET.

Bernard's next hearing is scheduled for November 6th.

In the woods, officers said they found a rifle, a white t-shirt, blue jogging pants and black sneakers from the Nike brand, the warrant said.
