Dozens of protesters were arrested during a sit-in at a Microsoft store in New York on Saturday. The event was organized by Close The Camps NYC in response to Microsoft's collaboration with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The event began with a demonstration of the main branch of the New York Public Library at Microsoft's Fifth Avenue store, located a few blocks from the Trump Tower.

A Microsoft spokesman said that all their customers and employees were safe. "We are grateful to the NYPD for its help with the protesters in our Fifth Avenue store, we have closed the store for the rest of the day and look forward to opening soon," they said.

Police said Saturday they arrested 76 people who had blocked traffic near the Fifth Avenue store in Manhattan.

The protest comes as criticism of companies working with ICE increases. Some Microsoft employees last year asked to cancel their data processing contract with ICE.
