Overall, it was not important in the outcome of the match, but the Mississippi State defense was a different defense in the second half of its match against Kansas State.
The Bulldogs were dominated on the line of scrimmage for most of the first half, allowing the Wildcats to play exactly the type of match they wanted. Kansas State hit the ball 21 times in the first 30 minutes of the game for 117 yards. It seemed like it would be a grueling training after a breakaway from MSU just before the half.
