Last night, the Emmys began their first series of awards for 2019, starting with the Creative Arts categories. Beyonce Back home documentary on Netflix was nominated for six of these awards, but he won none, The Hollywood journalist points out.

Back home documents Beyoncé's performance at Coachella in 2018, which caused so much sensation that they became known as "Beychella". The film has been nominated for a handful of awards among other specials and non-fiction programming: Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Costumes, Musical Direction, Production Design, Writing and Staging. Back home is not racing for any other awards at the main Emmys ceremony on September 22nd.

The stage was beaten in all categories, however. Springsteen at Broadway earned for achievement, while RuPaul drag racing race won the costume trophy and the live television production of RENTAL won for the production design. FX Pit / Verdon won for Musical Direction, and Hannah Gadsby's Nanette earned for writing. Carpool Karaoke: When Corden met McCartney live from Liverpool won for Outstanding Variety Special (pre-registered).
