An 18-year-old man was killed and another man was injured Saturday night during a fight that escalated into a shootout outside the Rose Bowl, police said Sunday.
The incident occurred about three hours after the end of the match between UCLA and the University of Oklahoma at the Pasadena stadium.
The man killed in the shooting was identified as Kamryn Stone of Los Angeles, said Pasadena Police Lieutenant Jesse Carrillo.
The officers were sent shortly after 11:20 pm Saturday, in the area of Arroyo Boulevard and Seco Street, about a physical altercation and gunfire, which found the two victims, said Carrillo.
Paramedics took them to a local hospital, where Stone died as a result of his injuries, and the second person, a 51-year-old man from Los Angeles, was found in a stable condition with a gunshot wound. he declared.
"The motive of the altercation that led to the shooting remains under investigation," he said. At this point, he added, "it seems that this incident is not random in nature".
Earlier Saturday, UCLA played at the University of Oklahoma at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins were defeated 48-14. The match ended at 8:08 pm
The commander of the police station in Pasadena pointed out that the shooting had taken place after the end of the match.
