Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup will need a knee MRI, Calvin Watkins of Dallas Morning News reported Sunday evening.

Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News The MRI is scheduled for Monday, after Gallup missed time lost in the final minutes of Cowboys' 31-21 win against Washington earlier Sunday.

"There is a bit of optimism here, but the review will bring clarity," wrote Gehlken.

In June, Gallup's last OTA session was cut short because of "a little too tight on the leg", from The Athletic's ### Jon Machota reported at the time. However, this did not prevent its production during the first two weeks of the regular season.

Gallup had 68 yards on six passes Sunday. In the first week against the New York Giants, he had 158 yards rushing for seven yards.

The choice of third round 2018 played the 16 games as a rookie. He had already had food poisoning before the Cowboys' match-14 weeks against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he had decided to play through.

Gallup scored 33 catches on 68 targets for 507 yards and two touchdowns in 2018.

If Gallup misses the game, quarterback Dak Prescott will have receiver Randall Cobb and tight Jason Witten to take over as well as receiver number 1 Amari Cooper. Ace Ezekiel Elliott can also ease the match.

The Cowboys hired Cobb away from the Green Bay Packers in March, and the veteran quickly formed a relationship with Prescott in May, while Witten returned to the Dallas offense after retiring last season.

The Cowboys 2-0 will face the Miami Dolphins 0-2 next Sunday.
