YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo (AP) – Two men are facing criminal charges for walking on Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park.

Kimberly Guilliams told KTMF-TV of Missoula, Montana, that she had seen the men lean directly on the geyser to take pictures on Tuesday.

Leaving sidewalks in the hot springs of Yellowstone is dangerous and illegal. Old Faithful bursts with boiling water about once an hour.

Park officials said the men had been summoned to federal court. They did not identify the two men.

Several people have been cited over the years for wandering the most famous geyser in Yellowstone. Several others were seriously burned by falling or entering the thermal features of the park.

KEDIRI, EASTERN JAVA, INDONESIA – 2014/03/02: The new landscape of nature, created by the eruption of Mount Kelud, barren land and new ravines etched on the ground by lava. Four people were killed, dozens more injured and more than 100,000 people evacuated from villages in the Indonesian island of Java, after the eruption of Mount Kelud on February 13, 2014, emitting ash and lava 17 km in the air. Volcanic dust and sand have spread to almost every region of Java, resulting in the closure of three international airports in the region. The most dangerous consequence of the eruption of Mount Keluds will be the volcanic lava dust melt that will flow as soon as it begins to rain. Kelud is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and is ranked in the deadliest category in the book Super Volcano: The Time Bomb under Yellowstone National Park, written by Greg Breining. In the last 1000 years, it has erupted 30 times. The most serious eruption occurred in 1586, making between 10,000 and 15,000 people. An eruption in 1901 caused a lava flow up to 23 km from the volcano, swept through hundreds of villages and killed 5,160 people. Another eruption in 1966 killed about 2,000 people.
