CNN) – Duane "Dog" Chapman, the "Dog's Most Wanted" star of WGN America, is under surveillance after a medical incident this weekend, a television star told CNN.

"I can confirm that Dog is being treated by a doctor and is resting comfortably," said a Chapman representative in a statement, following reports that he had experienced a heart-related emergency. "Thank you for all your wishes, keep going."

When asked to clarify the nature of Chapman's medical problem, the representative did not respond immediately.

Chapman became known to viewers via "Dog the Bounty Hunter," a reality television series airing from 2004 to 2012. His late wife, Beth Chapman, played alongside him in his current and previous series until his died in June.

Beth Chapman, 51, died of throat cancer.

They had been married since 2006 and had raised 12 children together, some from previous relationships.
