No. 11 Michigan and No. 13 Wisconsin are today in similar situations. Both have something to prove to themselves and to the rest of the country. Michigan is one of the most historic programs in the history of college football, but in recent times, too little of this story has involved winning the Big Ten. Under Jim Harbaugh, we saw the Wolverines return to winning at least 10 games per season and be part of the Big Ten's best programs, but they have not yet overcome the bump to become an elite team.
Then there is Wisconsin, which is one of the most successful Big Ten programs of this century. Michigan's last Big Ten title appeared in 2004 and Wisconsin won three conference titles in this period. The Badgers fell to 8-5 last season, however, and one now wonders if the Badgers race as the dominant force in the West is coming to an end.
A win over Michigan on Saturday could appease some of those who doubt, and Wisconsin certainly has an advantage on its court. Will this, added to a reinvigorated offense, allow the Badgers to do so at the 2019 meeting? Let's take a look at the best game scenarios and make a prediction.

Wisconsin: Wisconsin was embarrassed by Michigan last season, losing 38-13. This season, the Badgers were embarrassing, as they outscored their first two opponents (South Florida and Central Michigan) 110-0. We saw a defense that took a big step back last season to start recovering, but it has not yet faced a foul of the caliber of Michigan. This defense, combined with Jonathan Taylor's style of offense (237 yards rushing, 5 touchdowns), makes the Badgers an impressive force. The Badgers are perhaps a remarkable 30-5 against the opponents of the current division since 2013, but they fought against the best of East. Against the State of Ohio, Penn State and Michigan, the Badgers are only 1 to 9 years old for this period. Of course, this victory was won by Michigan last time it was Camp Randall.
Michigan: As in Wisconsin, last week Michigan had taken time off and had probably spent more time on a relatively sloppy offense. The Wolverines have returned the ball 12 times all last season, but they had five turnovers in two games in 2019. Shea Patterson was playing less than 100% of his health, but swears that he feels better for the match this weekend. Last year, Michigan beat Wisconsin 38-13 to start their "Revenge Tour". This is the fourth consecutive season that Michigan and Wisconsin have met and the home team has won each of the last three. This bodes well for Wisconsin, but I do not expect that there are many points scored in this game. These are two very good defenses that go against each other, and the points will have a bonus. So while Wisconsin could score four straight games for home teams, I'm not convinced that it covers the gap. In addition, Michigan could easily win this game directly, making it even more difficult to pass the points. Choice: Michigan (+3.5)
