Max Holloway will defend his featherweight title in Las Vegas in December

Max Holloway is heading to the ninth island.

For the first time as UFC featherweight champion, Holloway will be fighting in Las Vegas when he will defend his title with 145 pounds against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245 on Dec. 14, confirmed an official Saturday. from the UFC to the Star-Advertiser.

Holloway (21-4, 17-4 UFC) has just taken a unanimous decision against Frankie Edgar in July and has successfully defended his unified title three times since his victory over Jose Aldo in June 2017.

Holloway has not fought in Las Vegas since his victory over Jeremy Stephens in December 2015.

Volkanovski (20-1, 7-0) is undefeated in seven UFC bouts with recent wins over Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo to win the title.

He has won 17 consecutive bouts in total since 2013.
