A Long Island firefighter is suing his colleagues for what he says is incessant teasing about his weight.

The New York Post reported Saturday that John Munro had filed a lawsuit for discrimination in federal court against fellow firefighters in the hamlet of Hauppauge (HAW & #Pawg) in Suffolk County.

Munro, who weighs nearly 250 kilos, said he was nicknamed "cow" and harangued for taking two places in the fire truck.

Munro's lawyer, Joshua Frank, said that after his client had requested an investigation, someone had tampered with his rope and harness.

Munro is a volunteer at the Hauppauge Fire Department. He claims unspecified damages.

The fire chief did not immediately respond to a message asking for comments.
