Three people died and four others were hospitalized in Pittsburgh in critical or critical condition after police reacted to a "medical situation" early Sunday.

Five victims were found in an apartment in the southern part of the city, said the Pittsburgh Public Security Department. One was found in an elevator outside the apartment and another at the corner of a street on the 26th and at Carson.

All the victims wore orange paper bracelets, the police said.

Police told WPXI-TV that the victims, who were all male, showed no initial signs of drug-related paraphernalia or needles. The investigation to date indicates that everything that happened to the victims occurred on another site and not on the places where they were found, reported the station.

Police said they identified two sites with the help of orange paper bracelets on Saturday night.

None of the victims lived in the building, said a public relations agency representing the building in a statement to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"It's important to note that the people involved in the incident were not residents of our community," the statement said. "These were knowledge of a resident in good standing, who apparently was not in the apartment at the time the individuals were found." We understand that the group had attended an outdoor event where they may have consumed a toxic substance before returning to the apartment. "

The building spokesman, Mark Winters, told the newspaper that it was not clear how men could enter the building and in the apartment when the resident was not the.

Anyone who attended a party or event where orange wristbands were given to guests was invited to call the police at (412) 323-7141.
