As a journalist, you sometimes have to ask difficult questions that lead to difficult times between you and your interviewer. But Bill Belichick sort of took what we thought was clumsy and increased things by about a million points with his response to Dana Jacobson before the Patriots game against the Jets.
When asked what was the drop that led the Patriots to eliminate Antonio Brown, Belichick avoided the question as he often does before casting a deadly look at Jacobson.
Clearly, Belichick is tired of being asked about Brown and his reaction to this question speaks volumes. He did not think it was a proper question.
However, in all fairness to Jacobson, she is just doing her job. Do not talk about Brown would be a mistake as a journalist, especially considering his Twitter tirade today.
And to be fair to Belichick, he already cut a press session earlier this week when he was not asked about Brown. Jacobson had to know that she was not going to get anything from him here, especially just before a match.
In the end, however, at least we had this awkward moment of remembering it.
