Microsoft has released new optional updates for Windows 10 versions 1903 and earlier. These new optional fixes include only "security updates for Internet Explorer," which is interesting because optional updates released at the end of the month usually include a long list of fixes.

Anyway, if you are using the 1903 version of Windows 10, you can download version 18362.357 (KB4522016) today with the aforementioned Internet Explorer fixes. This release includes the same two known issues identified by Microsoft in this month's Patch Tuesday update, including a quieter audio issue in games and another bug preventing some IMEs (Input Method Editor) from no longer responding or causing heavy CPU usage.

These security updates for Internet Explorer are also available in version 17763.740 (KB4522015) for Windows 10 version 1809, as well as in version 17134.1009 (KB4522014) for Windows 10 version 1803. Similar optional patches are also available for Windows 10 versions 1709, 1703, 1607, and 1507, keep in mind that only Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users will receive these updates.

If you choose to ignore these optional patches, you will still get these updates to improve security when using Internet Explorer next month when the new patch on Tuesday will be available.
