FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – The Patriots put back-back James Develin on an injured reserve, injuring his neck, making him the third offensive player that New England has placed on the roster this season.

Develin played in the first two games of the Patriots, but was eliminated Sunday against the Jets. Rookie receiver N'Keal Harry (ankle) and left tackle Isaiah Wynn (foot) were previously placed in the casualty reserve.

A former free-standing free agent, Develin has been a base player on New England special teams and special teams since joining the team in 2012. He was selected for his first Pro Bowl in 2017.

Last season, he played in the 16 games of the regular season with eight starts and rushed to register four touchdowns at the career summit.
