UAW members could stay on the picket line against General Motors until they agree to an agreement in principle, which could add at least a week to the standstill. job.

When called for a strike, the UAW's Board of Directors decided that the employees would not work until the local leadership group voted against the work stoppage, according to the Detroit Free Press. , quoting three people close to the thought of the union. However, two local UAW leaders who sit on the council told the free press that even after the vote, workers could remain on strike until ratification of membership.
