Joaquin Phoenix came out of an interview when asked if his "Joker" could incite raging fans to adopt a "mass shooter mind."
The 44-year-old actor, who received an ovation for eight minutes at the Venice Film Festival for his portrayal of the deranged villain, was overthrown when he was interviewed by Telegraph film critic Robbie Collin.
