INDIANAPOLIS – The Colts of Indianapolis today hired cornerback Deante Burton in the training team and released offensive midfielder Darius Jackson from the training team. .
Burton, 6-2, 205 pounds, participated in the 2019 Texans training program and camp before being canceled on August 26th. He has played three career games with the Texans (2018) and Green Bay Packers (2018). and Atlanta Falcons (2017-18) and compiled five tackles (four solo) and a forced fumble. Burton also appeared in a post-season contest.
In 2018, Burton played two regular season games and one playoff game with Houston. He spent a week on the Packers' active lineup but did not attend the games. Burton also appeared in a game with the Falcons and spent time in their training team. As a rookie in 2017, he spent the entire season on the Atlanta practice team. Burton was originally signed by the Falcons as an unregulated free agent on May 1, 2017.
Jackson, 6-0, 230 pounds, was signed to the Colts 'training team on September 20, 2019. He spent time at the Dallas Cowboys' training team earlier this season. Jackson has played four career games with the Cowboys (2016, 2018-19) and Green Bay Packers (2018) and has six runs for 16 yards. He also posted four punt returns for 90 yards. Jackson was selected by the Cowboys in the sixth round (216th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
