Sad Fan of the Panthers is pleased that the Panthers can finally stop destroying Cam Newton :: WRALSportsFan.com

The Panthers have been an offensively contentious franchise for most of their existence and partly because they have been largely disputed. The arrival of Cam Newton changed that.

And yet, the way they treat Cam since his arrival in Charlotte – gives him as a decent offensive line (at best), waiting too long to put guns around him on the playing field, playing him with repeated injuries – INCLUDING WITH AN INJURED LISFRANC THIS YEAR, IN spite of RON RIVERA, INSISTS TO LOVE HIS SAFEGUARD QUARTERBACK – was, thus, like this:

Newton is not a perfect fourth, even in good health. But the speed with which the Panthers fans were ready to crack for Kyle Allen, just because he had won against New Orleans substitutes in the second week and then beat a bad Cardinals team, shows although they were just as willing to throw Newton as the franchise itself.

Every stroke or every moment of Newton's career has been dissected, every wanderer casts an indictment on his skill as a pocket smuggler, every hasty attempt is further proof for those who think that he can not launch that he has to run to be effective. (And his ability to run is what makes him him, so we're clear.) The attack led by Mike Shula down (which included more difficult shots to execute), the wrong offensive lines and the lack of Adequate skills the players in position were no excuses – any miss missed by Newton meant that he was very imprecise. He did not do the right readings. Can not read a defense, you know.

And at least a few times a game, Newton would indeed have a throw that would make you scratch your head. But when its completion percentage has increased significantly in Norv Turner's offense due to several shorter casts, the accuracy has been ruled out while in reality, the absence more than that in Newton's previous offenses is causing some of its lower completion percentages. So, suddenly, the nuance was applicable whereas it was never before

Oh, do not worry! Nuance would be goodbye again as the media reported that Kyle Allen had scored 2-0 in his last two starts and Newton 0-8 in his last eight, again forgetting the whole question of Newton's injury for almost all of these, especially both this year. But it's good! Nuance does not have its place when you launch your QB WINS like this!

And what really stinks when I watch Kyle Allen play well – and good for him, by the way, seriously! – Can not I really enjoy it? Because it means one more week from Ron Rivera. This means that more and more people are saying that Cam Newton has to sit and reject everything he's done for the franchise. It means validating the bad decisions that brought everyone to this point. This prolongs this era so badly managed. Do I think that David Tepper will end up doing the right thing? Yes. But this last episode with Newton's injury only adds to a long and sordid story.

Whenever Ron Rivera took Cam Newton and claimed that he was not injured, last year and this one, this not only compromised Newton's actual health, but also the way people perceive it. Newton continued to do so without arguing too much because he wanted to play anything, even though his detractors only report his failure to dive into a Super Bowl fumble or his outfits as evidence of his lack of tenacity. He could play with his arm hanging from his body and when he forced a misguided blow, those same people would shake their heads and go "See, look like it's always been wrong!"

Instead of defending the quarterback who did these things for him, Rivera instead insisted that he was fine and that he was not looking for anything, nothing to see here, my friends. If he does not play well, it's just for him. It does not throw in deep, does not take off and does not run? Not an injury; just the decision making of Cam. It was one thing Ron had actually said.

And so, if Kyle Allen can continue playing this way, it's finally a good thing. That means Rivera will not bring back Newton to save his own work. This means that Newton may perhaps – JUST MAYBE – be really healthy instead of being repressed 11 days after suffering an injury to Lisfranc, which is totally unacceptable. It means that he can also save some of the representatives of his shoulder.

Meanwhile, the media continues to pile up, and fans will continue to stack their favorite scapegoat. They will simply not be able to do it on the ground.

To be. Better.
