Samsung will start sales of the latest version of its highly anticipated Galaxy Fold smartphone in the US this week. Two colors should be available, Cosmos Black and Space Silver, and the device should also be shown in South Korea at about the same time. However, there is a disadvantage: the product will only be available at certain points of sale at the start.
Samsung had to postpone the launch of its flagship smartphone from April, after reporters who rated the unit revealed that its hinge needed reinforcements. The top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display had been mistakenly confused with redone to make it obvious that it was a part of the handset, not a protective film. With all the improvements made at the end of July, Samsung is now on track to make the phone available this year. In the United States and South Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Fold will be available from September 27.
The foldable handset will be available at select AT & T stores, select Best Buy stores and Samsung Experience Store locations. In its press release covering availability dates, Samsung never mentions its own online stores or large online retailers like Amazon.
It is unclear why Samsung did not specify at first if his Galaxy Fold would be online. The company may be considering offering smartphones in retail stores only to ensure that each sale is accompanied by a sales pitch to teach the customer how to exploit it and how not to break it.
In the United States, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Fold purchased without a contract should be in the order of $ 1980.
