A pilot stuck in a tree after a plane crash in Somerset County

An active rescue mission is underway as first responders attempt to release a pilot who crashed into trees outside a Somerset County airport.

Authorities say that the single-engine plane crashed just outside the Central Jersey Regional Airport just after noon Tuesday. The pilot reported that the engine stalled while he was attempting to land.

The plane is caught in trees along the Millstone River, on the border between Manville and Hillsborough.

Authorities say that the pilot was not injured but that he is still stuck in the plane.
