Then, in the final of season 16, fans discover that Ziva is alive and well when she visited Gibbs (Mark Harmon). With regard to the beloved character of Ziva, the creators of NCIS seems to really like to play with the emotions of the fans.

This season, Ziva returned to the show during the season premiere. But at this point, no one really knows how many episodes it will appear. The creative team mentioned that she was one of four, but it seems that she appears in five episodes. But many fans hope this number will increase.

Because Ziva has experienced so many changes in her life, many fans are wondering if her personality will be completely different from the one we have come to know and love. So, did Ziva change?

What is the story of Ziva David?

Ziva David was introduced to us for the first time when she appeared in the show during Season 3. At the time, she was an Israeli Mossad officer who was working as a Liaison Officer for the United States. organization and assigned to the NCIS. In season 6, Ziva was captured by Somalis. She was eventually rescued by the NCIS and chose to leave her position at Mossad to join the NCIS team.

Ziva was a valuable member of the NCIS. While fans loved to see her as an NCIS officer fighting crime, what was even more fun was her relationship with a colleague: Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly).

Ziva and Tony had a complicated relationship that was filled with a lot of romantic tension. There was an obvious chemistry between the two characters from day one. But because of Ziva's trust issues and Tony's commitment problem, the couple's relationship seemed to be evolving at a snail's pace.

Then, in Season 11, Ziva fled the country after a terrorist group came after NCIS. When Tony finally finds Ziva, she tells him that she will stay in Israel and no longer wants to be an NCIS agent.

Ziva is presumed dead

After living in Israel for a few years, NCIS agents learned that Ziva had been killed in a mortar attack. Fans were still trying to deal with this devastating news when a bomb had been dropped and we had learned that Ziva not only had a secret girl, Talia, but that Tony was actually the father of the child.

After learning that he had a daughter, Tony resigned from NCIS to be able to look after the child and find answers about Ziva's death.

Ziva's return: has she changed?

Three seasons later, Eleanor Bishop receives a letter from Ziva confirming that Ziva is still alive but wishes to remain hidden because her family could be in danger if someone discovered she was not killed during the attack. Even though fans knew that Ziva was not dead, they were still shocked and delighted to see Ziva walk out the door at the end of the season to warn Gibbs of the danger he was running.

Cote de Pablo (Ziva) and Mark Harmon (Gibbs) had recently sat down for an interview to talk about some of the changes that fans can expect to see with Ziva.

"Side, in some ways, plays a very different character," Harmon told CBS. "She's been alone for a long time."

Harmon had also suggested that Ziva's personality change could also change her relationship with the other characters in the series.

"Gibbs is not used to change, and they've already made a lot of change last season," said Harmon.

Pablo added: "It's not a given that [the characters] are going to be exactly what they were … Ziva is used to working alone and suddenly she tries to tell Gibbs what to do. They have not seen each other for a long time and must regain their confidence. "

It should be very interesting to see exactly how Ziva changed and became more independent over the De Pablo episodes. Season 17 of NCIS is created on September 24th on CBS.
