New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and celebrity chef Sandra Lee split up.
The couple confirmed Wednesday in a joint statement to journalist Zack Fink that he was calling for resignation after 14 years of dating.
"In recent years, we have realized that our lives have taken different directions and that our relationship has turned into a deep friendship," they said. "We will always be a family, we support each other fully and we dedicate ourselves to girls, our personal lives are personal and there will be no comment."
The confirmation of their break comes several months after listing their six-bedroom house, "Lily Pond", when Lee denied the information that they lived apart after being separated.
"Nothing has changed, we are still together," she said at the time. "And so that things go well, we do not get married, we do not divorce and we are not pregnant My blood type is B positive, not B negative By selling the house, the world does not follow apart . "
The couple was introduced by a mutual friend at a party in Hamptons in 2005. Since then, they have maintained a relatively low profile despite their constant presence at public events.

Lee was successful with several cookbooks and cooking shows, the most famous of which was "Semi-Home Cooking with Sandra Lee", broadcast on Food Network from 2003 to 2011. This show earned her a Daytime Emmy Award for her Exceptional lifestyle / culinary host.
Cuomo took office in 2011. Although it was presumed that he would be running a presidential race in 2020, he denied any interest and said earlier this year that the former vice – President Joe Biden had the "best case because it brings the maximum of the secret ingredient you need to earn, which is credibility."
