Pixel 4 is leaking: here are everyone in order

June 10 – The first credible reports are on the Web

After a few months of silence, @OnLeaks launched the very first credible rendering of Pixel 4. Previously, some patents were presented as flagrant false Pixel 4 leaks and various other rumors also showed unrealistic designs. While these first renderings did not give us a complete picture of what the Pixel 4 would become, it also confirmed the camera's glass case and square case.

June 11 – Pixel 4 will have a Soli radar chip as models of housings and details on the leak of bezel

We had many exclusive reports on Pixel 4 this year. The first was a report about the Soli radar chip built into the phone. These details were quickly corroborated by the findings of Android Q.

Shortly after this report, Pixel 4 camera models were released, corroborating the first renderings and providing details on the design of the "front" bezel and face recognition sensors housed inside.

June 12 – Google officially introduces Pixel 4 as a display surface for true tones

In one of the biggest twists of Google, the company officially unveiled the design of its Pixel 4, at least in the back, just when the leaks began to heat up. This rendering, as shown below, continues to be a major source of corroboration of subsequent leaks until today and, shockingly, this is not the last time that Google has released official information before launch.

Along with this official rendering, more detailed information discovered within Android suggested that Pixel 4 would support some kind of "Tone" feature on its screen to change the color temperature.

June 13 – Verizon Timeline Alludes to Launch Date

Given the trend of Google, there was little doubt that the phone would arrive on the market in October. However, a time leak in Verizon's timeline highlighted a device launch in mid-October.

June 14 – Exclusive: Pixel 4 spotted in the wild

With the design confirmed, it has become much easier to sort out the real fake leaks. We were able to share in exclusivity the first image of Pixel 4 in the wild by mid-June, this distinctive camera case constituting a lethal gift for our informant. This report also confirmed the design of the "front" bezel.

July 5 – The camera app hints at the telephoto lens

Google's Pixel phones have always had only one camera on the back. While many were hoping for an ultrawide in the Pixel 4, leakage from the Google Camera app quickly revealed that a telephoto lens would be used. Specifically, we were able to confirm that a 16 MP telephoto lens was next to the phone's standard shooter.

July 8 – Renders shows the "front" for the first time

Most of the discussions on Pixel 4's design in July focused on its earlier appearance. Previous rumors mentioned a "frontal" telescope that preoccupied some. Finally, on the 8th of the month, a handful of CAD-based renderings showed what these glasses would look like and it was not really that bad.

July 13 – Exclusive Photos of Pixel 4 in the Wild

After our previous exclusive Pixel 4 photos in the wild, another informant spotted the camera – probably the smallest variant – in public. This time, the camera was in a different box that better highlighted the camera and its sensors.

July 20 – Screen protectors show a cutout for Soli

The screen protectors ended up being a source of early detail for the Pixel 3 series last year and by 2019, they also seemed to confirm the details of Pixel 3. More specifically, these protectors of Screen exhibited a large cutout at the front of the device where the Soli sensor resides, as well as cutouts for the front-facing camera and Face Unlock sensors.

July 29 – Google confirms Pixel 4's Soli chip and its face unlocking sensors (review)

In addition, this report detailed the 5.7-inch display of the Pixel 4 XL 4-inch and 6.3-inch pixels, a 12MP main camera, 6GB of RAM, and rather poor battery capacity. The Pixel 4 has a battery size of only 2,800 mAh, while the largest Pixel 4 XL has a respectable cell of 3,700 mAh. Our source also mentioned some "advanced" features of the camera.

August 11 – Pixel 4 spotted in the plane with thin glasses

Pixel 4 was spotted in public on August 11th. The aircraft was seen in an aircraft on slightly sketchy images showing thin glasses on all sides except the top.

August 27 – Practical pictures give a close up front and back

September 3 – Pixel 4 hits the FCC

A few hours later, a brief GIF of the white model allowed us to discover for the first time this variant (Panda is back!) Later in the day, corroborating information regarding the 90Hz pixel display was found in the Android 10 source code, referring to Pixel 4 as "P19 devices".

September 6 – Exclusive details of the Pixel 4 camera and the Assistant and other leakage of practical information

Continuing our collection of exclusive details on Pixel 4, we shared two reports on September 6th. First, we have detailed the new features of the camera to arrive on the Pixel 4. This leak also confirmed the refresh rate of 90Hz provided by a device information application.

From there, two interactive videos come out of Vietnam. One of these leaks offered a 4K video of the Pixel 4, which was by far our best result so far on the camera. In this video, Face Unlock was more detailed, the Google Camera app was displayed, as well as the rocker for the "Smooth Display" at 90Hz as well as the "Ambient EQ" function.

In the other video, we take a closer look at the orange variant in a video that mentioned that the white and orange versions would have a matte finish on the back. This video also provided the first camera samples of Pixel 4 and many details about the different camera sensors. September 12 – UI Assistant and other apps, game test

The leaks out of Vietnam continued to spread with detailed experience giving us a better overview of the software. The leaks of Pixel 4 did not pause for the weekend either. Our own Kyle Bradshaw has developed a thorough analysis of what could to be a third Pixel phone in 2019, "needlefish". Its breakdown picks up what we know of the device, including the fact that it appears next to the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL code names over and over, as well as what it might be . September 16 – Google announces the event "Made by Google" and Netflix discloses the Pixel 4

With dozens of leaks behind us, we had the impression that we did not know anything about Pixel 4. In another exclusive report, we could reveal that Pixel 4 was offered in three colors. These first two are not at all surprising, but "Oh So Orange" departs from the "Kinda" "No" and the "-ish" nicknames used on the Pixel 2 and 3 families.

On the same day, an Irish retailer also released a first Pixel 4 ad, which corroborates our report. These lists also indicate the price of the device, but they are not reliable to be converted to US prices. In this case, the Pixel 4 seemed less expensive than the Pixel 3, but we can not take that for the moment.

September 23 – Another practical leak with matte finish and details of unlocking faces

The leaks of Pixel 4 by practical messages are still not stopped. On September 23, another outlet released a detailed presentation of Pixel 4, which confirms the details and provides a new light on the devices. One of these details included the matte finish on the back of the white variant. Although we know that the black variant of Pixel 4 will be very bright, the white version will apparently have a matte finish that is not as smooth as that offered by the Pixel 3, probably to avoid scratches.

In addition, the experience has given us another glimpse of Face Unlock, which explains its operation in dark environments, its operating angle and some of the system options, such as unlocking the phone immediately or not. Oh, there is also a definite confirmation that there is no fingerprint sensor.
