The NFL announced Thursday its partnership with DraftKings to make the company its first official partner in daily fantasy.
The partnership includes "an exclusive sponsorship of the daily sports fantasy category with access to the NFL brand and more" on the DraftKings platforms, according to a press release announcing the deal.
"This is a decisive moment in the industry and we are excited to be the first daily partner of the fantastic sport to formally enter into the NFL," said DraftKings General Manager Jason Robins. "Throughout our discussions with the League, it was clear that we share a common vision of the future of fan engagement, and we are excited to continue this unique journey with the NFL as a official partner of our daily fantasy. "
DraftKings has more than 11 million players worldwide and nearly 90% of DraftKings' customers participated in a daily NFL fantasy contest.
"Daily fantastic football has been a great way for fans of all types to deepen their engagement with the NFL," said Renie Anderson, revenue manager and executive vice president of NFL Partnerships.
