This huge leak could be our first glimpse of the design of the iPhone 12 next year – BGR

The 2020 Call iPhone, which we will call the iPhone 12 for lack of a better name, is expected to be the first major overhaul since the iPhone X that launched the frenzy of the notch in 2017. The next generation of iPhone should already use the iconic The design of the iPhone 4 is an inspiration and it is supposed to support 5G technology. Now, a new leak may have revealed a more exciting thing about the iPhone 12: it might not have a notch at the top. This does not mean that the handset is giving up the face recognition feature, as you will see below.

LG was the first smartphone maker to have a notch at the top of its smartphone screen, and then Essential launched a phone with a different type of notch. Of course, no other company has copied any of these models, but Apple then launched a phone with a notch. We all know what happened next.

The old iPhone X introduced the most advanced biometric authentication on smartphones (facial recognition 3D), a feature that no other phone had until the iPhone X. In fact, it is a feature that has took two years for Google to copy. Before Google, only Xiaomi and Huawei had tried to reproduce Face ID, because the technology used was expensive and Apple held roughly the component market. Other smartphone manufacturers have also proposed all-screen models like the iPhone X, and many of them then realized that copying only the design of Apple was not necessarily the solution, if you do not consider also to support facial recognition in 3D.

This is how other models of all-screen smartphones were introduced. The notch has been replaced by sliding cameras, perforated screens and dual screen phones. The compromise was the same: smartphone manufacturers still needed to make the camera selfie available to users. At the same time, they were also working to place the selfie camera under the screen, and the first under display prototypes were already shown earlier this year. It will take some time before it is ready for mass production.

Apple may not be following this path at the moment, especially if the next leak is accurate.

Ben Geskin is a graphic designer who says that one of Apple's prototype iPhone 2020s has a 6.7-inch display with the TrueDepth camera system built into the top frame, as shown in the second image below. -above. Here is a closer look:

It would be a huge achievement to allow Apple to finally offer the type of all-screen smartphone it has always wanted to manufacture.

Although the development of the iPhone 12 is underway, it is not clear where Geskin pulls his information and he does not have a very good reputation regarding the accuracy of its leaks. He was right a few times though, so this leak deserves to be checked. In addition, even if the leak is accurate and it is a design considered by Apple, many changes can take place before Apple finalizes the design.
