The 28-year-old woman was skydiving with a group of seven around 2 pm Thursday, the PIO of the California Road Patrol, Ruben Jones, told CNN.
The group took off from Lodi parachuting center. CNN has sent it to the institution for their comments.
The conditions were windy and the woman crashed into the truck during the descent of the group of paratroopers near Lodi Airport, Jones said.
Then she hit the right shoulder of the road, the California Highway Patrol announced in a message posted on Facebook. The unidentified woman was declared dead on the scene.
The other six people in the group survived, according to KCRA, a subsidiary of CNN.
The station spoke to Lisa Reyes, who was driving with her father and brother on Highway 99 when the woman crashed.
"The way the person struggled, struggled against the wind and his body was really moving, very fast," she told the station.
CHP investigates the incident.
