WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Democratic-led US House of Representatives on Friday killed a Republican resolution that disapproves of the official inquiry into the dismissal of President Donald Trump, announced this week by House Speaker Nancy. Pelosi.
The vote was 222-184, essentially in line with the parties, in favor of a motion to table the resolution presented by Representative Kevin McCarthy, leader of the Republican Party in the House.
The presentation of the resolution and the vote underline the deep partisan division in the House regarding efforts to investigate the Republican President.
